A deep tissue massage is perfect when you are suffering from muscle pain, stressed or recovering from a soft tissue injury. For more information or to get booked in - contact us today!
A deep tissue massage, similar to a swedish massage, uses firmer pressures and it is more targeted to particular areas of pain and tension. This massage treatment could be perfect for you if you are suffering from severe pain, recovering from a soft tissue injury, experiencing muscular tension or if you are stressed and just want to relax.
This massage targets specific problem areas to stimulate your blood flow, to kick start your body's natural healing process. Prior to your massage, we will discuss any problems you may have and what specific areas you want targeted. In order to handle deep muscle layers, connective tissue and to break up adhesions, we use a range of techniques (usually involving my fingertips, knuckles, forearm and elbows to apply different types of pressure). However, if it starts to become uncomfortable, you can tell me, and I will reduce the pressure.
A deep tissue massage can reduce anxiety, stress, muscle tension, improve athletic recovery, break up scar tissue and it even releases 'happy hormones' like serotonin. You will also notice muscle pain relief by releasing knots and improving elasticity. Once your massage is done, it is normal to experience some aching, which will all pass in a couple of days.
As a therapist, I have completed numerous CPD courses and qualifications such as a Level 5 BTEC Professional Diploma in Soft Tissue Therapy. LWB is a member of the Sports Therapy Organisation and the complementary and Natural Healthcare Council, so you know you are receiving a professional massage therapy.
LWB moved to our current base in 2015 and since then we have continuously grown and have gained a loyal client base. I get to know each individual customer and will adapt the treatment to benefit you. As well as treating the pains you are experiencing, I also try to diagnose and treat the cause of your discomfort. We have many forms of massage therapy, so if you are unsure of what treatment is best for you, I am able to provide you with advice if you choose to enquire.
