Deep Tissue massage uses similar strokes to that of Swedish massage but pressures are longer, firmer and focus on areas of pain and tension. In order to manipulate the deeper muscle layers, connective tissue and to break-up adhesions I may use my forearms, elbows, fingertips and knuckles. That might sound a bit uncomfortable – but remember: you are in control. Too uncomfortable? You tell me and I reduce pressure or adjust my technique.
